Our Core Values

Fidelitymeaning: faithfulness to something to which one is bound by pledge or duty.

We take our faithfulness to our brothers and sisters within the United Association seriously, but we also take our faithfulness to our trade seriously.  We are voluntarily bound together; united by our skills, our training, and our desire to maintain the high industry standards that keep people safe.

Benevolence - meaning: a disposition to do good.

We seek to do good by our fellow members, our contractors, and our clients, but we also seek to do good within the communities we serve.  Societies either advance or decline as a whole; we know we have it good, and we would like everyone to have an opportunity at a better life.

Education - meaning: the action or process of educating or of being educated.

We are trained by the best in the industry, but we also believe that educating the future generations is crucial to the well-being of society in general.  Lifelong education is key as the new technology of today will soon be replaced by the technology of tomorrow.

Protection - meaning: the act of protecting or the state of being protected.

We find protection in our membership everytime a father, husband, mother, or wife goes home safely to their family at the end of the work day with a decent paycheque.  We find protection in our membership when our extended medical needs are met.  We find protection in our membership when we realize we will have the opportunity to retire by age 65 because of the savings plan.  We find protection in the fact that many voices in unity are louder than just one.

Whatever their faults, unions have been the only powerful and effective voice working people have ever had in the history of this country.
